Common conditions

Three Sixty Rehab specialises in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of injuries and conditions.

Using the latest functional neurology, movement strategies and advanced rehabilitation, we are able to go to the root cause of the problem. This often allows for rapid changes and long term results, so you can get back to the things you love to do.

Whilst the following may be common conditions, the way we assess and treat your pain complaint is anything but ‘common’….

Back Pain

Back pain is a common disorder affecting 80% of people at some point in their lives. It is the most common cause of disability, a leading contributor to missed work and the second most common neurological ailment. A ‘bad back’ is a poor understanding in most cases because it’s actually quite the opposite. Functionally the body needs to ‘load’ the muscles to move the bones efficiently, so any problem occurring anywhere in the body can cause the back to essentially ‘over work’. A comprehensive ‘functional biomechanical and neurological’ assessment will lead us to the true cause of your pain.

The majority of our experience often shows that old injuries such as an old sprained ankle, bump to the head or whiplash event remains in your ‘software programme’. Think along the lines of a computer which has hardware (body) and software (brain / nervous system) working in synergy and you’ll have a good understanding and then how important it is for the brain to work without any ‘software viruses’.

We will treat the pain directly with various therapies including powerful laser treatment, advanced massage techniques and certain stretches and prescribed exercise.

We need to treat all aspects of your very unique injury history to be effective or your back pain may return. Our results with back pain using this approach have high success rates.

“I can't recommend Mark and this clinic enough. He is the ultimate professional and extremely knowledgeable. I went in with lower back pain I've lived with off and on for 14years. In ONE meeting I am officially pain free and the interaction and education I received along the way was second to none. Absolutely over the moon and I can't recommend this place enough. I'll be back for the run clinics and check ups and it will be my go to recommendation. Many thanks Magic Mark” - Sorrel Rawlings

Sciatica

Sciatica is a medical term used to describe pain that radiates from the lower back, buttock and through various parts of the leg and foot. It comes from the sciatic nerve getting trapped, squeezed or stretched somewhere along its path. Early treatment of this particular issue will be key because there will be a knock on effect of symptoms which include increased pain, reduced movement, lack of sleep and in certain circumstances, depression.

Another problem with experiencing pain for a long period is that all your movements will change to ease the burden on the sciatic nerve. This if not treated soon will develop into habituated walking patterns or limp, which can actually be the hardest thing to rehabilitate at a later date.

To get back to health quickly you will need a thorough assessment and treatment plan!

Runners Knee

Most knee pain problems have nothing to do with the knee…..??

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome is a very painful condition where the patella (knee cap) moves or tracks away from the articulations of the knee bones - the research shows the patella sliding outside the grooves but in reality it is the bones that move out of synch which is the problem! So ‘stiff’ or ‘hyper mobile’ feet/hips can normally be found to be the culprit. It is the most common overuse knee injury amongst runners and it can account for up to 40% of the knee complaints in sports medicine clinics. There are other types of knee pain which stem from trauma or stress to the tissues such as muscles, ligaments or cartilage but a thorough assessment will pick up what’s going on and will lead us in the best way to resolve the issue.

“Three times now I have presented the team at Three Sixty Rehab with three separate issues on three separate occasions and three times I have came out with the issue resolved or massively better if not within a few days resolved.

They hold an incredible amount of technical knowledge tempered with real human compassion.

Please, if you have any issues, in my humble experiences this is the team for you.” - Chris Hayes

tennis / Golfers Elbow

Symptoms include; pain around the ‘inner’ elbow (Golfers) and ‘outer elbow’ (Tennis), also morning stiffness and weakness of the forearm/grip. It is commonly caused by repetitive microtrauma from overuse of the forearm muscles. However any dysfunction in the brain or neck such as old whiplash injures can be evident in most cases. The ‘evidence’ suggests that the majority of cases will get better on their own within 6-18 months, but why wait that long? We believe it is because the root cause isn’t being dealt with. Using Functional Movement Neurology, ‘laser-brain screening’ and Class IV Deep Tissue Laser Therapy alongside a rehabilitation package we can effectively locate and treat the problem for long term results!
